St Kilda Start - bike tour
10am start from St Kilda Beach
If your date is not available, please just ask.
The blue bikeshare station near the corner of Cavell St and The Esplanade, St Kilda. This is in front of the Palais Theatre and across the road from Luna Park.
Recommended: Only if staying near St Kilda OR wanting to experience Melbourne beaches AND city. A lovely ride.
St Kilda is one of Melbourne's most fashionable suburbs and one of its most popular beaches. There we will take in such sights as Acland and Fitzroy Streets, the St Kilda Foreshore, and Luna Park. Then, we can ride past homes and into Melbourne's city, past the arts and cultural precinct, the sports precinct and then some of Melbourne's most famous arcades and laneways before returning to St Kilda or you can finish in the city.
Since the terrain of these communities is generally flat, rest assured that this tour is a manageable ride.
Take a look at what ST KILDA has to offer by clicking here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-i-YQzE5E&feature=youtu.be
There is also the opportunity to see the Grand Prix track (if you so desire).
You will NOT see as much of Melbourne as you would on a Federation Square start.
You will ride more kms on this tour than you would on a Federation Square start, but it is still an easy ride.
Example route which will vary:
Assuming we start in St Kilda, this tour can include famous Acland Street & Fitzroy Street, the St Kilda Foreshore, Luna Park, Beacon Cove, the Yarra River, Crown Casino, Flinders St Station, Federation Square, City Arcades and Laneways, The National Gallery of Victoria, the Botanical Gardens, the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground), the Shrine of Remembrance, the floral clock and home of the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park Lake.
